Soil Carbon for Growers, Agronomists & Corporates

understand your

soil carbon potential.

To participate in any carbon market, soil data is essential.

The best time to conduct a carbon baseline is 5 years ago. The second-best time is right now. This is especially true if you are making practice changes on your farm and want to record the results over time.

Our soil carbon baseline report will provide you with an independent, cost -effective analysis of the potential benefits and financial opportunity within your production system.

WHY BASELINE YOUR PROPERTY?

Understand your current soil carbon levels based on (Emissions Reduction Fund) ERF methodology.

Use ground-truthed data to understand soil carbon potential before you participate in any scheme.

Use the data to input into carbon calculators.

Understand soil carbon levels and calculated carbon stocks.

Carbon data can be used for market access requirements

CARBON REPORT

STANDARD INCLUSIONS.

We use the latest technologies to create a sampling plan, and then ground-truth with strategic soil testing. Our carbon baseline report includes:

  • Development of carbon estimation areas (CEA), exclusions, strata and sampling plan
  • Strategic soil carbon sampling at 0-30cm and/or 30-100cm based on ERF protocols.
  • NATA certified laboratory analysis to ERF standard
  • Digital maps and reports of raw carbon results (%) and carbon stocks (tonnes per hectare)
  • Carbon Baseline report including your soil’s carbon potential based on CSIRO’s LOOC-C mode

It is estimated the measured area has the potential of 36,417tC02-e over 25 years. Based on the current spot price of ACCUs @ $30.25 @ 04/08/23, the above credits are estimated to have a value of $1,101,614

EMISSIONS REDUCTION FUND

The Emissions Reduction Fund is an Australian Government voluntary scheme providing incentives for a range of organisations and individuals to adopt new practices and technologies to reduce their emissions.

Farms taking part in these activities may be able to earn Australian carbon credit units (ACCUs). One ACCU is earned for each tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2-e) stored or avoided by a project. ACCUs may be sold to generate additional income, either to the government through a Carbon Abatement Contract, or on the secondary market.

Precision Ag has a network of partners in the carbon industry, including carbon project managers, to help inform you on making the right choice for your enterprise.
